Cycle March for Peace

1 June at 10:00 until 31 August at 18:00

We, students of Delhi University, are planing a CYCLE MARCH FOR PEACE from KANYAKUMARI to ISLAMABAD (via Thiruvananthapuram, Coimbatore, Bengaluru, Mumbai, Gandhinagar, Jaipur, Gurgaon, New Delhi, Chandigarh, Amritsar, Wagah border and Lahore).

This cycle march is aimed at creating and demonstrating peace and friendship between India and Pakistan. Due to mutual mistrust and hate, India and Pakistan spend huge amounts for defence purposes which could otherwise be used in the fight against poverty and hunger. We want to change this state of affairs by joining hands for peace in our neighbourhood.

It does not matter if you are not from Delhi University. You don't even have to be a student. If you have a bicycle and the will to change the world, please join us on this cycle march for peace!

We will be starting from Kanyakumari on the 1st of June 2013. We plan to cycle about 50 km every day - 25 km in the morning and 25 km in the evening (most of the march will be along National Highways) and arrive at New Delhi by the 31st of July and Wagah border on 14th August to jointly celebrate the independence days of both our countries. It is hoped that we can reach Islamabad by the 31st of August 2013.In between we will be collecting signatures in support of the cause of love, peace and non-violence.

If you are not able to come with us all the way, you can join us in between according to your convenience. It would be great to have you with us even if it is only for a few steps. If you are planning to join, please start practising on your cycles right away!

To confirm your participation and to know more about the march, please call us on +91 81309 81540 or +91 88020 60181 or send an email to dustudentsforpeace@gmail.com.

Remember - all you need is a cycle and the will to change the world!
