Reaching 'No Man's Land'

INFORMATION ON HOW TO REACH NO MAN'S LAND ORGANIC FARM

The venue for the workshop (4-9 Dec 2011) is No Man's Land, an organic farm in about 16 kms from Sirsi town. The farm belongs to George and Susheela, who live there with their three daughters.

Getting to Sirsi

Train:

For those coming from other places by train, the nearest major station is Hubli. Click here to see trains connecting various places to Hubli. From Hubli there are regular buses to Sirsi, and the journey takes about 3 hours.

Bus:

There are regular buses from several major cities to Sirsi. For information on KSRTC buses from Bangalore, click here. There are also buses by private operators (click here to check available options). Some people might prefer to take an overnight sleeper bus. Sirsi is about 6 hours by bus from Goa (Madgaon) and about 9 hours from Bangalore.

Getting to No Man's Land

If you are on the bus from Hubli to Sirsi, get off at Islur (which is about about 10 kms before Sirsi on the Hubli-Sirsi road).

Directions from Islur:

Ask for 'Raghu Nayak's' shop in Islur, near the society building. Get him to drop you at the farm (George & Susheela’s farm) by motorcycle taxi. Cost - Rs.45. He may take two people (triples) if you don't have too much luggage.

Bus/private maxi cabs run on this route. Stand at the turnoff to Bopnalli/Danandi and ask any local for the timing of the next bus/maxicab. If there is one within a short while, take it and get off at the Danandi forest checkpost. The farm is a 1Km walk from there. Ask for directions at the forest checkpost or let us know ahead and pickup can be arranged from the checkpost.

Call ahead and let us know what time you are arriving and if you require pick-up from Islur. A Jeep can be sent.
